Menu in ObjectGears

23.05.2016

ObjectGears menu can be found at the left part of the screen. You can minimize it so that particular items are represented only by an icon. As a result, your working space is increased. After moving mouse over menu item icon a tooltip with menu text is displayed. The menu expands to the right. In this way you can provide the user with couple of nested submenus. However, what can we do if the application is extensive and the user does not know exactly where to look for a particular option? ObjectGears provides search in menu. Simply start writing a text in the box in the menu panel and menu starts providing only options corresponding to your input.

Menu is responsive. That means that it adapts to small screen dimensions of smart phones and enables comfortable search to the user.

Users often prefer full page menu in form of a guidepost. How to cope with that in ObjectGears? Answer is pages with webparts. You can use one big guidepost for the whole ObjectGears instance (all the applications) and individual guidepost for particular applications (e.g. ITIL processes, CRM, EasyTask). You can link these guidposts to each other and user that wants to see all the items in a single page rather than going through the menu, will be satisfied. Users also can set such a guidepost as their ObjectGears default page.

The page can be easily and quickly created as Html text webpart in ObjectGears html editor. If you want to solve localization (language versions of text in a page), display of particular items based on current access rights and responsive design, webpart Script will do the job.

Guideposts for particular applications can be distinguished also by colour tuning similarly like for models by means of colour themes.
